This plan envisions a parks system for Fort Wayne that is ambitious and future-oriented, yet rooted in the city’s historic ecology and its rich legacy of parks planning. It does not turn away from growth and change; instead, it envisions how these dynamics can catalyze park system evolution. It provides a growth framework through which Fort Wayne’s blue-green network can center equity and access, ensure quality, enliven the community, and enhance the natural environment.
