Project Details

The owners of this new French-inspired estate wanted a master plan that would take advantage of the property’s stunning lake views and mature oak trees, and provide a comfortable gathering space for their blended family.

The antique granite curb and gravel driveway, Sycamore tree allee and mix of native shrubs and perennials are a few of the amenities that define the property.

The lake side of the home features picturesque gardens, an open lawn, hundred year old oaks and breathtaking views. Planting beds and garden walls create subtle separation of the garden rooms. Interior and exterior seating areas blend seamlessly and support both casual and formal dining and entertaining.

The landscape works in harmony with the home. The reclaimed common brick home informed the color choice of plant materials for a cohesive color-palette. Historic and antique containers are incorporated throughout the garden to reinforce an old world feel. The organized garden spaces gradually disintegrate in formality as you move toward the bluff and parameter of the property.

The bluff was completely restored. Dune grasses and native plants help prevent erosion of the bluff and provide habitat for wildlife and migratory birds. The bluff terrace is located strategically in the middle of the bluff to provide a seating area completely surrounded by nature and allow access to the lake.
