Project Details

The city of Monterrey is challenged with maintaining the pace of the economic development that characterizes it and caring for the ecosystem that sustains its life. In the last 30 years, the population has doubled and in that same period, the extent of the urban area has increased by 5 times. The Living Creek, Arroyo Vivo, project brought together 36 students in Chicago and Monterrey to identify ways to improve the ecosystem and living conditions for those that reside along the creek and the city of Monterrey as a whole. In February, students came together to present an analysis report to various stakeholders such as educators, government officials, and community leaders. The report was acknowledged and accepted by government officials.
