Lucy Gonzalez Parsons Apartments is a model for equitable, sustainable urban development in Chicago’s Logan Square. Built on a former city parking lot, this transit-oriented development provides 100 affordable rental units, offering residents easy access to jobs, education, and a vibrant, walkable neighborhood. The project integrates stormwater management, green roofs, and biodiversity-enhancing plantings while creating welcoming gathering spaces that foster community interaction. By seamlessly blending affordability, sustainability, and urban connectivity, it exemplifies how landscape architecture can shape healthier, more inclusive, and more resilient communities. Completed 2022.
