Project Details
SmithGroup’s 2013 Master Plan established a walkable, sustainable community by concentrating people and resources. As landscape architects for the first mixed-use residential phase, we designed spaces for comfort, beauty, and daily relevance. Inspired by Scotts Run stream valley, the landscape reflects its movement through dynamic, usable spaces, guiding sustainable practices. Open spaces mimic the stream’s form, culminating in a terraced plaza bridging a 40-foot grade change. Stepped seating evokes rocky cascades, while terraces create flexible gathering areas. Raingardens manage runoff, and podium-level amenities—gardens, lounges, and a pool—enhance daily life. Native plants and shade structures foster year-round outdoor use. Completed 2021.
