Project Details

Spectacular positioning on Lake Michigan fully informed the approach to the LoMaine Residence renovation. The impressive combination of beach and dune ecosystem was central to the design vision. The client envisioned a landscape without any traditional yard areas, enhanced and expanded into areas immediately surrounding the house, utilizing historic native flora in these zones. Designed amenities include a large-plank concrete patio, beach boardwalk, stainless steel hot tub, custom outdoor shower, fire pit, and a variety of outdoor seating nooks. This extraordinary site is best experienced during the pleasant journey along paths leading to the water’s edge, enveloped by ancient ecosystems.
