Project Details
The Campus South Walk at the University of Chicago transforms a key pedestrian corridor into a cohesive, high-performing landscape that unifies five major buildings across three blocks. Designed for connectivity, sustainability, and community engagement, it integrates native planting, stormwater infrastructure, and regionally sourced materials. The project redefines the University’s relationship with the adjacent Woodlawn neighborhood, fostering inclusion through open, accessible spaces. The design establishes a unified identity, supports future development, and exemplifies landscape architecture’s role as a catalyst for connection, setting a precedent for district-scale sustainable campus planning. Completed 2021.
