Project Details
SmithGroup, as the landscape architect, helped transform one of the community’s most cherished public spaces with the Groves development and Engledow Commons. The project activates 40 acres of parkland, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor educational programming with native landscapes, interpretive garden plazas, and destination play areas. A strong emphasis was placed on sustainable design, including innovative stormwater and green infrastructure strategies that remain visible near key areas to engage visitors. This approach fosters environmental stewardship among park visitors, from campers and eventgoers to local high school students who utilize the space as an outdoor classroom.
