Join us for an afternoon walking field session exploring the beautiful grounds of the Lake Ellyn Boathouse area. Then top off the day with light appetizers and drinks inside the Boathouse with friends and colleagues. We hope to see you there!
The Lake Ellyn Boathouse was originally designed in 1935 by local architect Frederick G. Walker and built by the WPA. In 2016, Farr Associates rehabbed the historic gem. Much of the project, including the shoreline pathway, was designed by Nathan Troia, ASLA, of the Glen Ellyn Park District, and Austin Eischeid, of Austin Eischeid Garden Design LLC, designed the entry garden.
Field Session
This session will take you on a journey with Austin Eischeid, Jim Patchett, ASLA, Nathan Troia, ASLA, and Jonathan Lawrence through the Lake Ellyn Boat House and gardens to discover the rich history, sustainable master plan, native plants, management successes and failures in the suburban environment, and much more. Join us for fellowship and education!
