Cultivating Connections at Lurie Garden

Call for Volunteers

This event takes place near Lurie Garden and will cover 6 stations: Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Construction, Urban Agriculture/Climate Change, and Tours of the Gardens.

We will meet with youth about 10-15 years old from the Lost Boyz Organization and Local public schools. They will meet with ASLA and Lurie Garden experts the Monday prior, on the 14th, after school, for a primer at their local community center. We have set activities and most of the supplies for each activity – we will give you the tools to share your passions with youth. Small groups will rotate through each station. We will take small groups around to various activities and stations to explore Green Industry professions. They are VERY engaged youth, love hands-on activities, and are really excited to have this opportunity. We are also going to take them around the park, as many, though they live in the area, have never had the opportunity to visit Millennium Park and Gardens.  

You can sign up to volunteer for some or part of the day. All passions and help are appreciated!
