Integrating the Edible Garden into the Landscape Teaching Objectives:

  • 5 keys to successful organic edible gardening

  • Common mistakes in designing and constructing an edible garden

Jeanne Nolan has been growing food organically for over thirty years. In 2005, Jeanne founded The Organic Gardener Ltd., and with her team has built over a thousand organic food gardens in and around Chicagoland for families, schools, restaurants, businesses, and non-profit organizations. In partnership with Green City Market, she also developed The Edible Gardens, a 5,000 square-foot educational children’s garden in Lincoln Park Zoo. Jeanne regularly teaches about growing food on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight and has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Food & Wine, Women’s Day, and other national publications. In 2013, Random House published her book From the Ground Up, called “one of the most intelligent, surprising, and impressive garden memoirs” by The New York Times. She lives with her husband and two daughters on a little farm in Northbrook, IL.
