Life in The Time of ICE Webinar 3 8211 UPD

WEBINAR SERIES
LIFE IN THE TIME OF ICE

Be Prepared -Be an Advocate -Learn -Take Action

Dear community,

This year, we started a collaboration between El Merequetengue, network of Latin American landscape architects and designers; the local Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion chapters of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), including ASLA-Arizona, ASLA-Illinois, ASLA-New York, ASLA-Maryland, ASLA-New York Upstate and ASLA-Northern California; and private firms of TERREMOTOTOPOPHYLA Landscape ArchitectureBethany Rydmark Landscapes, and CROW Landscapes, to learn about our constitutional and legal rights, build acknowledgment, share resources, and support each other in times of fear and uncertainty.

The collaboration quickly grew and flourished in the planning of a series of webinars called Life in the Time of ICE. We poured our frustration, insecurity, and desire to be proactive into action by forming a collective work of affiliate groups, ASLA regional chapters, and landscape architecture firms, all interested in learning how to navigate the unconstitutional attacks on the immigrant community.

The intention of the webinar series is to offer the landscape architecture community key information, resources, and opportunities to stay safe while taking action. The series will start tomorrow, and it includes four parts:

  1. Be Prepared. February 26th at 3 pm – 4:00 pm EST. A general overview of what’s happening, your legal rights, trends, tactics, and how to create a workplace or individual plan. Register here
  2. Be an Advocate. March 3rd at 3 pm – 4:30 pm EST. We will discuss ways to build acknowledgment and share experiences and resources. Register here
  3. Learn: March 18th at 3 pm – 4:30 pm EST. A session to know your rights. Register here
  4. Take Action: How to put what we’ve learned into practice. Date and place TBD

Please note that registration for the webinars is a 2-step process. In the Eventbrite confirmation, you will receive a link to register on Zoom. After the Zoom registration, you will receive a confirmation email containing the Zoom link to join the meeting.

We invite you to join us, learn more about how to support the immigrant community, and continue the conversation!
