Carla attended Virginia Tech receiving a Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design and began her professional career in Washington, D.C. interning at SmithGroup helping with various educational, governmental and commercial projects. In 2017, she continued her career in Chicago, designing numerous workplace interior projects for local design firm, Eastlake Studio (now Geniant). In her 6 years as a professional designer, she helped lead her teams from the conceptual phase, to design development and construction documents all the way to on-site construction administration. She has worked on every size project, from smaller creative branding agencies, to large tech companies and law firms, downtown building amenity spaces, spec suites and rooftops, to historically preserved headquarters within the Old Post Office Building, which was honored by AIA as Best Interior Design of the Year, 2022.She has always had a passion for relating interiors to their exterior surroundings and knows the importance of giving each project its own unique flare while still maintaining functionality. By transitioning her design skills to a sales role with Techo-Bloc, she has valuable insight on the Chicago market and takes an empathetic approach to assisting all current and future clients, having been a designer herself.
Carla joined Techo-Bloc in the Fall of 2023 shifting her focus from interiors to outdoor artscapes and is excited to be a local resource, assisting all stakeholders with project timelines and goals. She looks forward to continue building relationships within the A+D community in Chicago and beyond.
